In an interview to the San Francisco Chronicle, Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft’s Entertainment & Devices Division, cleared that the company has no plans for rolling out a ZunePhone anytime in near future.

The interview takes place on the eve of Apple’s WWDC, which anticipates the unveiling of a new iPhone.

Bach stressed that Windows mobile has a very nice position to fit in the consumer market and Microsoft dosen’t have any plans to fiddle with it. He said

“We don’t make phones ourselves. We don’t have any plans to make phones ourselves. Our focus is on the belief that a phone is a very personal thing. Different people want different types of phones. We think that is going to continue, and we think Windows Mobile is in a great position to service all those different opportunities.”

Bach also pointed out how Microsoft aims at the market. He told

“There is more opportunity for services on top of the(those) phones. There is more opportunity for a richer experience. It’s not just about the phone. It’s about browsing. It’s about music. It’s about video. It’s about e-mails, text messaging and photos.”

Well, Microsoft may have its say, but as of now iPhone is rocking, who know how the future would look like? Will this be an yet another Apple-Microsoft Desktop saga?? or Would Apple be able to keep its hold over the market??

Yes, its true, contarary to the concept that Apple boasts of about its products being “solid as rock“, its iPhone and iPod Touch aren’t rock-solid enough.

Recently, a hacker had publicized a TIFF vulnerability found in Apple iPhone which could easily compramise any iPhone, irrespective of its firmware version. But this Apple enthusiast cum hacker(HD Moore) is not much into those dirty tricks.

His rescent release of AppSnapp, a patch which allows an iPhone user to install unauthorized non-Apple products, has made people get second thoughts about Apple and their commitment for delivering a rock-solid architecture, be it the Mac or the iPod or iPhone.

As an additional feature, unlike the previous versions, you don’t need a Mac or a PC to install AppSnapp. This Apple lover(or ..) has made it compulsory to use the iPhone/iPod’s built-in Safari web browser to install this patch.

This patch doesn’t break any other functionality, nor does it unlocks the iPhone, rather it helps Apple in one way by fixing the TIFF image-rendering bug, which was responsible for allowing the installation of previous versions of AppSnapp.

Hmmm, seriously, if I was Steve Jobs, i would be thinking of employing this guy.

1. Mac is Stable.

Of course the credit goes to the solid architecture of BSD Unix kernel, but Apple were among the first to develop a neat GUI for it to succeed in the market. Mac OS X is basically based on Darwin, an open-source implementation of BSD.

2. Best at audio/video/photo editing.

Mac comes bundles with out-of-the box photo/audio/video editing softwares which are of top quality and suffice from basic to advanced needs. Moreover Adobe(R) does have a version of all their products targeted for the Mac users.

3. Vista runs on a Mac

With Mac coming on the Intel platform, you could get the best of both the worlds and run Microsoft Windows Vista on the new Mac. This is not that easy the other way round, on a traditional PC(i’m not gonna post the hacks here now ).

4. .Mac

A mac comes with a subscription to a .Mac account, to save your files and data online. The retrieval is really simple and fast.

5. Fewer Viruses

Mac not being the top-selling OS, many hackers/crackers won’t take it as their first target. Even with Mac being their priority, the rock-solid Unix architecture is difficult(not impossible) to breach.
